What is a sociocratic consensus circle?

A sociocratic consensus circle includes two or more participants who are actively involved in co-creating with a common goal. While sociocratic circles may start with one person’s creative vision, idea, or contribution, other participants are invited to expand and co-create within the circles. Once in a consensus circle together, all participants have equal say on the decisions and movements of the circle. With that said, participants in a sociocratic circle are not attempting to recreate others’ contributions, but to add additional contributions, expanding upon what is already there. While critiquing and suggesting improvements to other’s contributions is, at times, welcome, it is expected that participants will do so only as invited, and/or after first adding their own unique contributions, effectively expanding the circle’s offerings.
